Ectopic Pregnancies
Ectopic pregnancies are pregnancies that do not implant in the uterine wall. These pregnancies often occur in the fallopian tubes.
Ectopic pregnancies must be terminated at once because they endanger the life of the mother of the baby. There is no way for the baby to grow to term ectopically.
Certain methods of birth control increase the risk for ectopic pregnancies, including IUDs and tubal sterilization.
The symptoms of ectopic pregnancies include lower back, abdominal, and pelvic pain. There might also be pain on one side of the body. Pain on the tip of the shoulder is another sign. You might experience vaginal bleeding, fainting, or dizziness.
Consult your doctor right away if you have any of these symptoms. Some of these symptoms can also occur in Pelvic Inflammatory Disease or appendicitis.
