Depo-Provera is associated with weight gain, of about four pounds a year. After the anticipated two year duration, this is roughly eight pounds. This can be reversed after treatment has ceased.
More than 5% of women also report dizziness, headache, weakness, fatigue, nervousness, and anxiety.

Some women experience hair loss. Hair might also stop growing (alopecia).
Some women report a decreased libido. Of these, some report having difficulties reaching orgasm.
Some women also report breast pain, backache, or pelvic pains.
Depo-Provera might increase your chance of vaginitis.
Some other reported side effects of Depo-Provera are depression and insomnia.
